Prague - Romantic Historical City
| |
Prague has been the natural
centre of political, economic and cultural life of
Eastern Europe for more than one thousand years.
Prague is a major tourist destination
visited by 95% of all travelers coming to the Czech
Republic (former Czechoslovakia).
Exploring the city of
Prague, walking in the footsteps of Czech kings
through the Royal Route across the Old Town Square,
Charles Bridge, and passing the Baroque palaces of the
Lesser Town will lead you straight to Prague
Castle – a place that embodies the history of the
Czech state and nation. Each street and building carries
its own exciting history.
Coming to the Old Town
Square, you will be fascinated by the Gothic church of
Our Lady of Tyn where Prague’s oldest market place once
stood.
If you decide to change your Gothic taste
of the Old Town Square for the mysterious
labyrinth of the narrow Jewish streets, in only 2
minutes you and your lady will experience the special
atmosphere as decribed in Franz Kafka’s writings.
Walking through the 14th century stone bridge, called
the Charles Bridge, you will explore the first
University in Central Europe, founded by King
Charles IV.
As you cross the
Vltava river on your way to Prague Castle, you
will be walking through the most picturesque part of
Prague that is untouched by radical modernisation called
Lesser Town. All the way to the Prague Castle you can
share and enjoy this special and romantic atmosphere,
not alone, but with a beautiful lady who might
become your partner or eventually your wife.
To take a break from the sights,
you can take your lady to one of many wonderful coffee
shops, pizzerias, or restaurants on your way.
You could also visit art galleries, second-hand
bookshops, and churches, where classical
concertos are often played.
Just for interest
Many
movies have been shot in Prague. Some of the more recent ones being
Mission Impossible with Tom Cruise or the
Underworld with Kate Beckinsale.
